5/31/01 In a Cave on Top of the Rock

(After climbing the longest trail)

"The memory makes the mind
a vast museum; the will chooses
who gets invited in."
[Paul Tournier, paraphrased from
THE MEANING OF PERSONS]

One version of my museum
used to be a medieval castle
with a moat and draw bridge
I needed to lower for access.

Now my museum will have
a few ledges, plateaus,
footholds and handholds;
spaces for ritual, stories,
and important traditions.

And, not a few caves --
special,
-----hard-to-access
------------------places.
The sign on the new wing
--------will be:--------

"The Truth is in here Somewhere"
